A PODE is a Pension on Divorce Expert: someone who works out what pensions are really worth when a couple divorces, and how to divide them fairly. Do you need one? Not always. If your pensions are simple pots of money of similar size, probably not. But if there's a defined benefit or public sector pension in the mix, an NHS, teacher's, armed forces or similar scheme, the value is easy to get badly wrong, and that's exactly when a PODE earns their fee.
