Instruct by PODE.expert is a guided builder for the letter of instruction, the document that tells a pensions expert exactly what to work out.

It is the letter that tells the pension expert what to work out. And it matters far more than it sounds, because an expert can only answer the questions you actually ask them. A vague instruction gets you a report that is perfectly correct and no use at all. A good one says which pensions to include. What you want equalised: income in retirement, or capital value, because those are two different answers. Whether to look at the whole of your working lives or only the years you were together. And whether you want help getting the order worded and put into effect, which is a separate job from the valuation. If you are doing this without solicitors, this is the step to slow down on. There is a guide on the site that walks through each choice, and a builder that drafts the letter for you.
Getting the letter of instruction right matters more than most people expect. It sets the questions the expert answers, and a vague instruction produces a report that does not tell you what you actually need to know. Instruct by PODE.expert walks you through it question by question and produces a letter you can send.
It is offered at three levels: Self service, Guided and Managed. What each one includes is set out on the Instruct site.
